inventory qt ??

When receiving new items using immediate supplier invoice list
the invoice show that the item quantity was received and serial number also
and invoice is saved.
When you go to item list detail the quantity and open that item # the QT on hand  is not updated or the serial #.
but if you open the invoice from the supplier again it show the qt & serial number there????
