Equivalent products.

I have noticed that in ReadyPro, there is a capability to identify connected or equivalent products. We will find this function very useful because sometimes we order the same product, but from different suppliers (and they will therefore have different supplier codes). As a whole we identify products in the warehouse using their supplier codes.

I am just wondering what attribute does ReadyPro use to connect equivilent products? At the moment, we use an "Original Equipment" number which is the same for each identical product, regardless of trhe differing supplier codes. Can we integrate this system into Readypro?

An equivalent product is a different item than the connected one, that can replace it. For example you could sell two different MP3 players that could be equivalent.

In you case I think you're talking about the same item, just bought from two different supplier. With the same item I mean that it has got the same manufacturer S/N with maybe two different supplier codes.
In this case you shouldn't use the equivalent product features, but you simply have to indicate all you suppliers, their codes and their prices in the tab "suppliers".

Then you should activate the item search also by supplier codes in menu UTIL/COMPANY SETTINGS
