Question about Item Codes

As a way of testing your software, I imported some of our product data. For the purposes of testing, I included the product code in both the "Item Code" field, and the "Description" field. However, after a while, all the product codes changed into a progressive numerical sequence, ranging from 1 to 3450.

I am a bit confused about this. I don't want this to happen because I will at some point be using this field to associate inventory products to existing eBay listings. Could it be because the codes that I originally imported are alphanumeric and not numeric?

Try to check this import filter option
Must be set to "Alphanumeric code (if present in the input file)" otherwise the behavior could be the one descripted

To correct imported items, you need to remove imported products, and re-exec import
